1. Independent Candidate Promotes Palmeri: Dan Carpenter, a retired teacher whom I have never met has announced that he is entering the race for the 54th assembly district as an Independent. He wrote a letter to the editor of the Oshkosh Northwestern responding to one of the big-D Democrat letters that appeared a few weeks ago, and in it he urges voters to listen to what I have to say: http://www.tonypalmeri.com/carpenter.htm

By the way, the big-D Democrat letters that have appeared have been so awful, inane, and devoid of substance that they've actually created a backlash of support for my campaign. Keep it up big-Ds!

2. Lindsey K.: Palmeri means power to the people--Contrast the big-D inanity with the letter linked below by Palmeri supporter Lindsey Kronenwetter. In it she provides support for her claim that the "Job Creation Act" is bad legislation. She also criticizes incumbent Gregg Underheim, the person the big-D Dems have apparently forgotten about in their zeal to make stupid claims my candidacy. Clearly, the Time For Tony campaign is the only game in town taking the the responsibility to educate the electorate about public policy. Here's Lindsey's letter: http://www.tonypalmeri.com/lettersforpalmeri4.htm

3. Massive Peace Rally on June 26th: The Winnebago Peace and Justice Center is organizing a major rally for Saturday, June 26th at 2 p.m. at Opera House Square Park (Peace Park) in downtown Oshkosh. Iraqi Freedom veteran and folk singer Jason Moon will perform, and featured speakers include yours truly along with UW Oshkosh professors Ann Frisch, Alfed Kisubi, and Pete Remender; 6th congressional district Green Party candidate Carol Rittenhouse, perhaps Omro Priest Joe Mattern (participation not confirmed yet), and others. For more information email Bob Poeschel at carpepax@riseup.net. or call him at (920) 203-6966.

If you are in the Oshkosh vicinity, please do visit the Winnebago Peace and Justice Center on 321 Market St. Bob and others have done a remarkable job of turning the space into a real welcome zone for all members of the community. It's really inspiring, and I am thrilled and honored that the Center is so supportive of the Time For Tony campaign.

4. Omro Peace Priest Mattern Featured in Compass: Omro Priest Joe Mattern, a member of Pax Christi and a powerful advocate for peace and social justice, is featured in the Compass: http://www.thecompassnews.org/compass/current/news7.shtml Many thanks to my former student (and original director of the "Commentary" show) Chris Lee for passing that on. If the Compass website looks impressive it's because Chris' own Leemark Communications company designed it! http://www.leemark.com/portfolio.html Finally, last year Father Mattern spoke at our local Martin Luther King, Jr. rally:http://www.uwosh.edu/faculty_staff/palmeri/commentary/kingmarch12.htm
