TonyPalmeri.Com Update For October 23, 2004

Well, here we are in the home stretch of the Time For Tony race for the 54th Assembly District. Regardless of what happens in the election, the campaign has laid the foundation for a citizen based social movement in the Fox Valley, ensured that core human rights issues (universal health care, living wages, environmental standards) are part of the public discourse, recruited new members to the Lake Winnebago Greens and campus Greens, and provided voters with a real alternative to the corporate parties. Probably the most thrilling part of the campaign has been watching the young volunteers grow and develop into articulate defenders of social and economic justice, ecology, peace and nonviolence, and grassroots democracy. Good example: Campus Green co-chair Mandy Mabbott in today's Appleton Post-Crescent: http://www.wisinfo.com/postcrescent/news/archive/local_18338318.shtml
