Green Party and Libertarian Party members gathered in front of the Oshkosh Public Library Saturday afternoon to unite in calling for a repeal of the USA Patriot Act in Wisconsin.

"We're trying to stand up to the police state they're running in our country," 2002 Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Ed Thompson said.

Tony Palmeri, the Green Party candidate for the 54th Wisconsin Assembly District, said if elected, he would propose a resolution making Wisconsin a "civil liberties safe zone," where the Patriot Act is not adhered to.

"Wisconsin needs to lead the charge to say 'no' to these attempts to take away our rights and liberties," Palmeri said.
