In announcing his withdrawel from the District 54 Assembly race, Jim Genisio said, "Dr. Palmeri and I agree on many, perhaps most, issues. I wish that he had run as a Democrat. I would have supported him."
With all due respect to Genisio, isn't it foolish to place party label above the quality of the person running for office? Isn't putting the party above the person part of the politics as usual that has our state in such a mess?
Tony Palmeri represents an end to politics as usual. He'll stand up against the Democrat and Republican power brokers who have saddled each one of us with what the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign calls a $1,300 per year graft tax. He'll be a strong voice not for the polical parties, but for the people of the 54th District.
It's time for an end to policial posturing. It's time for real leadership.
