Teacher, communicator right for assembly

Recently the Northwestern reported on its front page that the Democratic candidate for the 54th assembly district was the 2003 air guitar champion of the West Coast.
What has not made the front or any page in the paper is that Tony Palmeri, the Green Party candidate for the 54th seat, was named 2004 Communication Educator of the Year by the Wisconsin Communication Association. The award was given in recognition of Tony's many years of provoking students and members of the Oshkosh community to think critically about issues affecting all of us.
Palmeri isn’t a West Coast air guitar champion. Instead, he is a champion of teaching and shaping the minds of our future, he is a champion of community civic involvement, and he is a champion of common sense principles that will speak louder than the hot air coming out of Madison. It is time that Oshkosh truly be represented and heard, and for that, we need Tony Palmeri!
