Letter: Mark Green and the Mass Psychosis
[note: Citizen John Frings sent the email below to tonypalmeri.com. In it he is referring to an interview of Congressman Mark Green that Cheryl Hentz and I did for Eye on Oskosh.--Tony]
It has been a while since I
made any comments. I watched your interview with Mark
Green.
I am becoming convinced that a large sector of the populace of this country
and more locally, this state, are under the influence of some sort of mass psychosis.
Green's support of concealed
carry legislation is the best evidence of that.
Do we not have enough guns in this country already? Once again it is the NRA
and their sycophants pushing this
legislation. Are we not yet tired of the incessant whining of this crowd regarding
their rights to own firearms? A right by the way they already exercise freely.
There is plenty of hunting in Wisconsin and to my knowledge no shortage of guns.
Just what this society needs are a bunch of hot heads running around with concealed
weapons.
Of course they are going to poo-poo any criticism
by those who do not see the need for such a bill. In my humble opinion it
is inevitable that someone is going to get shot in an argument somewhere by
someone carrying a legally concealed weapon. What then? Do we just say "oh
well, shit happens"? The person who is forever paralyzed or worse, dead
won't have much to say.
Oddly it it this crowd that is most vocal when their pet right is threatened but where were they when all the other rights we see being threatened are routinely ignored by these same people? Do they ask which rights. Just read the Patriot Act. Of course they regard themselves as patriots. Apparently they think waving a flag and carrying a gun is the mark of patriotism.
