Rittenhouse On Ballot!

Green Party candidate Carol Ann Rittenhouse will take on Republican incumbent Tom Petri in Wisconsin's 6th Congressional District

(Oshkosh). On Wednesday, July 21, 2004 the Wisconsin State Elections Board accepted 1,017 valid nomination signatures for 6th Congressional District Green Party candidate Carol Ann Rittenhouse. Ms. Rittenhouse's name will appear on the September 14 primary and November 2 general election ballots.

A mother of 3 children and grandmother of 7, Carol Ann Rittenhouse has been a Wisconsin resident Since 1951 and Sheboygan County Resident Since 1993. She is a graduate of Beloit College, owner of Rittenhouse Restoration, and has been a residential property manager for 47 years. She is a real estate broker and has taught real estate at a technical college. Carol Rittenhouse has a long history of serving her community as a church school teacher, camp counselor, girl scout leader, and a variety of other roles. She is peace activist, writer, and singer.

Carol urges 6th district voters to "Clean House With Rittenhouse." She believes that incumbent Tom Petri has been in office too long (25 years), is out of touch with the needs of the district, and has a terrible voting record. Mr. Petri's votes for war authorization in Iraq, for the PATRIOT Act, for NAFTA, for the No Child Left Behind Act, for the horrendous Medicare reform legislation, and for the Bush tax cuts for the rich have all had dreadful impacts on residents of the 6th Congressional District.

Carol Rittenhouse is a Green Party candidate. The Greens stand for Ecological Wisdom, Social Justice, Grassroots Democracy, and Nonviolence. Greens believe these are the values of the majority of citizens, and believe it is time to start electing to office candidates who support and live those values. It's time to Clean House With Carol Ann Rittenhouse!
